V/H/S 2 (2013) | These four terrifying tales are a relentless visceral joyride
The scares come thick and fast in this found footage horror sequel in which seven leading indie horror directors showcase their genre credentials in four terrifying tales involving a robotic eye transplant (Adam Wingard), a zombie outbreak in a public park (Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale), a satanic Indonesian cult (Gareth Evans and Timo Tjahjanto) and a slumber party alien abduction (Jason Eisener) – all wrapped around a framing story (Simon Barrett) involving two private investigators who uncover a collection of videotapes connected to a underground tape sharing community. Spooky, shocking and stirred up with a very black sense of humour, VHS/2 is a relentless visceral joyride and way superior to the first anthology. This is a must-see.
