V/H/S/2 (2013) | These four terrifying tales are a relentless visceral joyride
Posted by Peter Fuller
WHO’S TRACKING YOU?
The scares come thick and fast in this found footage horror sequel in which seven leading indie horror directors showcase their genre credentials in four terrifying tales involving a robotic eye transplant (The ABC’s of Death‘s Adam Wingard), a zombie outbreak in a public park (Lovely Molly‘s Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale), a satanic Indonesian cult (The Raid‘s Gareth Evans, and Timo Tjahjanto) and a slumber party alien abduction (Hobo With a Shotgun‘s Jason Eisener) – all wrapped around a framing story (by You’re Next‘s writer Simon Barrett) involving two private investigators who uncover a collection of videotapes connected to a underground tape sharing community.
Spooky, shocking and stirred up with a very black sense of humour, V/H/S/2 is a relentless visceral joyride and way superior to the first anthology.
V/H/S/2 is available on DVD in the UK from Koch Media, and also screens on Sky Movies Premiere from Friday 11 April, starting at 11.20pm.
