The Inside (2010) | This shaky cam Irish horror is an insufferable waste of time

The Inside (2010)

Directed by Irish actor Eoin Macken and starring Emmett J Scanlan (In the Flesh) and Tereza Srbova (Strike Back), this 2010 Irish horror involves a bunch of loud, drunk women who head off to a warehouse party where a gang of rapists lie in wait. But the girls face something even more terrifying than being verbally abused by their drug-fuelled attackers – having to run in their party heels through the labyrinthine building where something is gurgling in the shadows…

The Inside (2010)

This shaky cam horror is guaranteed to turn you off the found footage genre forever. It’s just a bunch of people swearing and shouting, and running through dark corridors, with the occasional sound effect standing in for the demon/baby/creature thing that you never quite see. It’s just plain annoying and makes for uncomfortable viewing – except for chilling score (by The Brilliant Things), which I could happily listen to without the amateur visuals.

The Inside is available in on DVD from Monster Pictures UK and also screens on The Horror Channel (Sky 319, Virgin 149, Freesat 138), with the next showing on Friday 25 July at 12.40am.
