The Midnight Meat Train (2008) | Bradley Cooper books himself a one-way ticket into absolute terror

The Midnight Meat Train (2008)

Based on Clive Barker’s 1984 Books of Blood short tale, the 2008 horror The Midnight Meat Train centers on photographer Leon (Bradley Cooper) who finds himself in a nightmarish hell when his pursuit of the perfect photo leads him directly into the path of century-old serial killer Mahogany (played by a mute Vinnie Jones – thankfully).

Hardcore Clive Barker fans should rejoice over director Ryuhei Kitamura’s action-packed bloodfest, for not since 1987’s Hellraiser has there been such a well-crafted translation of Barker’s dark imaginings. And as for Mahogany’s methods of dispatching his victims? Well, they are eye-poppingly gruesome to the extreme! Now where’s my mallet?

The Midnight Meat Train screens on 5USA tonight (24 October) at 10pm, and is also available to rent online from LionsgateUK Movies
